Help for every member of the family
Seeking help from an expert is the first courageous step toward a peaceful and purposeful life. Dr. Essenburg is honored to provide expert and experienced psychotherapeutic treatment for all members of the family. As a family psychologist, she views each individual or family through the lens of the environment and sphere surrounding each person or groups of people.
At Connection Child & Family Therapy, you will be welcomed into a peaceful, non-judgmental, and informal environment where you are safe to share what’s on your mind. Together, we will develop an attainable action-plan to find solutions to the challenges you’re facing.

Youth Trauma
Children and youth who have experienced relationship-based trauma such as abuse, neglect adoption and foster care often experience complex developmental trauma. This often leads to an interactive set of psychological and behavioral issues that requires an
attachment-based, trauma-informed approach. Dr. Essenburg is certified in both Raising Kids with Big Baffling Behaviors (RKWBBB) as well as Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI). Both methods have similar qualities, and both are designed to meet the complex needs of vulnerable children and their families. See the Parent Corner
page for more information.

Children & Adolescents
When children and teens struggle, everyone in the family is impacted. Whether the concern is a mood disorder, such as anxiety or depression, or a behavioral issue, Dr. Essenburg is here to help. No matter the reason for coming in, therapy is individual and tailored to
each child, teen and family’s need, appropriate to the child’s developmental level.

Individuals
You don’t have to go through this alone. By working together, we will be able heal old emotional wounds, uncover and understand any self-destructive patterns and behaviors that are playing out and replace them with new, more supportive behaviors and beliefs that will help you move closer to the life you desire and deserve.

Family
Stresses of modern life, the desire for better work-life balance, a family crisis, major life transitions or mental health concerns for one or more family members can have a huge impact on any family. Family therapy is here to help you create a better functioning home environment for every member of your family.
